1. Write down the price now
A struck-through price says little: it is often an old list price nobody charges anymore. Note today's price for the two or three models you like, then compare during Black Friday week.
2. Check who sells it
Under the Buy button, Amazon shows who sells and who ships. Many dive computers on Amazon.com are sold by dive shops (ScubaDotCom, Suunto US, DiveCatalog): that is normal, but check the return policy and warranty before you order. For a dive computer, the warranty matters more than a few dollars.
3. Add up the accessories
The pressure transmitter (Suunto D5, Ocean, Peregrine TX) is sold separately, as are a spare cable or screen protector. Compare the total cost, not just the computer's price.
4. Don't pay for features you won't use
For recreational diving on air or nitrox, a Leonardo 2.0 or Puck 4 is enough. Trimix, rebreather and many gases are for technical diving only. Our budget dive computer guide compares the entry-level models in more detail.
❓ Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026 on Amazon?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30. Amazon usually starts its deals several days earlier. Not every model gets a discount, and some deals only last a few hours.
Are dive computers really cheaper on Black Friday?
Sometimes, but not all of them and not always by much. Dive brands discount less than consumer electronics; Garmin and Suunto watches are the most likely to be on sale. The only way to know is to compare with the price you noted a few weeks earlier.
Which dive computer should a beginner buy on Black Friday?
The Cressi Leonardo 2.0 is the simplest: one button, air and nitrox, big digits. The Mares Puck 4 adds Bluetooth and Bühlmann. If you want a color screen and air integration later, the Suunto D5 is the one you won't outgrow.
Should I wait for Black Friday or buy now?
If you're diving before the end of November, buy now: a few dollars saved isn't worth a dive with a rental computer you don't know. Otherwise, note today's price and compare on the day. Several models had only a few units left when we checked.
Can I return a dive computer bought on Black Friday?
Amazon usually extends its return window for holiday purchases. Third-party sellers can have their own conditions: check the return policy on the listing before you order.
